Elephants have been given prominence in this monument, in the form of 148 life-sized statues weighing a total of 3000 tons. This grand architectural achievement at Delhi needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. Akshardham means the divine abode of God. It is a place of devotion, purity, peace. This huge structure is a delight and sometimes the visitors like to describe it as the eighth wonder of the world.
